J T Carrodus writes about his two Guarneri violins in the aforementioned Chats to Violin Students (pp. ; an illustration lies inbetween): I myself possess two very fine specimens of his [Guarneri’s] work – one, which is known as the Cannon Joseph from its powerful tone, is said to have belonged to Paganini, and to have been.
The Carrodus Guarneri Violin is named after one of its owners, 19th century British violinist John Tiplady Carrodus (). The Carrodus Guarneri is described as “one of the finest violins” made by famous violin maker Guarneri.
An interesting fact about the “Carrodus” is it was made from the same tree as as other Guarnerius violin known as the II Cannone. John Tiplady Carrodus (–) was an English violinist.
Life. He was born on 20 Januaryat Keighley, in the West Riding of made his first appearance as a violinist at the age of nine, and had the advantage of studying between the ages of twelve and eighteen at Stuttgart, with Bernhard his return to Britain in Costa got him engagements in the leading.
